Short Course on HDPE Pipe Laying

Two days training workshop on HDPE pipe laying was started on January 25th by Manpower Development and Training Division of National Water Supply and Drainage Board for plumbing technicians who are seeking foreign employment. 63 plumbing technicians participated in this.The training workshop consisted of theoretical and practical sessions and the aim of these courses was to provide knowledge, skills and attitudes for the plumbing technicians to work with a good manner in a foreign country.

Knowledge Sharing Includes

Planning, Design, Construction, Operation and Maintenance and all realms of Engineering; such as Process, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Sanitary, Information Technology, Materials Supply and Management as well as Commercial and Financial aspects. The Centre utilizes its knowledge base in Water and Waste Water Engineering, including Management and Human Resources, Logistics ICT and Financial Management in the sector; to enhance knowledge and to continuously upgrade skills of its employees, across the country.

NWSDB’s multitude of raw water treatment plants; driven by a range of treatment technologies, from the simple cost effective technologies, to the high tech and modern, and located across the island, offer an excellent platform for providing hands-on training.
